I am Your Boat

I envy the sun for it shines on you,
the water of the sea for it meets your toes,
the rain from the clouds for it washes you,
I envy them, for to you, they are close.

I have always been the weaker one,
the one who has to always appear strong,
but you were always my shining sun,
to you, I was never wrong.

I met you, but didn’t think you’d matter,
I’d walk along the shore to watch you swim,
I’d observe you in your blissful stupor,
along the sea, you would always dream.

I battled the enemies to keep you alive,
because you were the only one keeping me so,
but darkness has its grip and I strive,
I watched my life pass my eyes and go.

I’m always here, Annie, to watch you and our boy,
but I envy the ocean for it holds you both,
so as you go on in life, I wish you joy,
life is the sea and my death is your boat.

Love can’t be planned, you know. Whether you’re five or sixty, fat or skinny, whether you like guys or girls, love isn’t something you set a date to. It isn’t time bound, nor could it ever be turned off.

When you’re in love, you just know.

Nothing is permanent

All things must come to an end. Some may be just as painful as the others, some may also be happy and satisfying. But, I swear, every change, every leaving, every departure could use a lot of getting used to.

For the things that may hurt, you just have to brace yourself. It isn’t life if it does not hurt, remember that.

For the things that make you happy, savor them and make them last. They might say life isn’t fair, but it truly is fun if you try to see things differently.

“It’s funny how destiny gives us the wrong people every time. It’s like, ‘hey, this person’s gonna break your heart, but let him be a perfect person first before everything else’. I’m sick and tired of it.”

“Yeah, destiny does that.”

“Is that your only answer? That’s far from your philosophical replies—

“I guess destiny does that because it’s the only way you can discover that you’re stronger than you think you are. And then, when you’re the strongest, it gives you the right person so that you can hold on to him for a long time, a lifetime even.”

“Figured out about that fear yet?”

“Yeah.”

“Can I hear it?”

“It’s you.”

There was a shrug.

“I always thought it was that terror professor—

“I figured I’m afraid to lose you. I love you, and you’re my best friend. I can’t lose you.”

My country is my body

My country is my body. I was born in it and it was born with me. I am its fruit, and it is my home.

Nobody is perfect. No body is perfect. But I was born with my country and my country is my body, I have its arms to cradle the weight of discrimination, I have its legs to carry me wherever I want to go, I have its eyes to see the beauty of my own self, I have its mouth to speak of its glory and its imperfections, and I have its soul to carry with me until the day I die.

But its arms are weak and its legs are buckling. Its words are weak against foreign tongues and words. Its eyes are now blurry for it has been seeing nothing but criticism and shame.

But my country is my body, I am its heart and I will carry on until I raise it from ashes. My country is my body and I will always be proud to carry its soul.

The best thing about this life is that when you realize that the quotes won’t exactly solve anything, you would appreciate it more because you based your path on them. People who read something inspiring become inspired, those who read something happy become happy, those who read love quotes were to think of their beloved ones. And the words won’t exactly be the solution to a problem, but when you think of it, being happy is contagious; so is being sad, and being in love.

Words are what makes this world spin right on its axis and as long as there are written words, there will be romance, drama, comedy, and thrill.

Can you imagine a life without words?

AHAHA, I have this funny story to share.

I think my innocence is non-existent these days, so I started tracing the moments in my life when I was a kid when I was referred to something inappropriate or sexual and I didn’t get it.

One was when I was in third grade. I was the taller and bigger kid back then, and I had this small boy of a classmate. He’s really cute and kind of energetic. We were really close that he used to call me his sister.

And because of that, I used to perch him on my lap and shake my legs up and down. When I was a little younger before that, my dad used to do that and make me imagine that I was on a horse. I was doing the same with my classmate.

And then, one kid commented and said, “Ay, bastos!” or in translation, “Ew, that’s inappropriate.”

Now, I think I know what he meant when he noted that.

Finally, after a long night of frustration, I finally posted what I promised to be posted last night. Check these links!

Pure

Gabriel
Fallen and with nowhere else to go, the purely innocent angel Gabriel wanders around the ‘Big Apple’. He goes around and meets people, trying to find his way home. But, without the reason he’s trying to find, he’s stuck for a while in this cruel world. What would it take to go home? And who is Alexandra Smith to him?

Alexandra Smith
Young and ambitious Alexandra Smith is a born New Yorker. She’s scanning around the city trying to make her way into the world. Only still a high school student, she’s in between jobs to try and sustain a family that her own mother could not support by herself. But then, she meets Gabriel and her supposedly small world expands.

Uriel
The Rescuer is baffled by the lost of one of their young angels. Angel Uriel is the definition of a leader and he’s determined to find the young Gabriel whatever it takes. But, the human world is a chaotic place and finding a ‘fallen’ angel in it would be fairly difficult. What would the Rescuer do? If he does not find Gabriel, he would surely be in trouble.

Nathaniel
The Rescuer will be alongside the Healer whose main intention was nothing but find Gabriel. Nathaniel is one of the highest ranking angel up there and the loss of one of their own would be a weight on him. Just like Uriel, he’s reluctant about travelling in the human world. But, cunning and smart, he would also do whatever it takes to find Gabriel.

Cassandra
The Mentor, one of the principal angels of Heaven, is deeply concerned about the incident. And she knows that the lost will not only cause a temporary uproar, but also a permanent chaos if it is not aided as soon as possible. Sending the best angels to do the job and find the cause, she’s pretty sure that one of them had done it. Only, she’s keeping an eye out for any clue leading to the holy culprit.

Sarah
Her best friend is lost and she’s going to find him on her own if the Mentor would not allow her. Determined young Sarah scouts the human world using her children, going through depths and peaks. And she suspects that Nathaniel had done it, but when she told the Mentor, she’s unbelieving.

Augustus
The Philosopher taking the form of a small child travels with Zachariah as one of the finders. He scouts the the cities with no intention of stopping. But, as one day, he wanders away from Zachariah, he finds out a secret that will surely shake the whole of their world.

Zachariah
The Historian, alongside the Philosopher, travels the whole world in search of the fallen. He has some suspicions and is not afraid of voicing them out. Having more experience than any of the assigned finders, he scouts the dark parts of each city in hopes of finding young Gabriel. But, his fearlessness brings him to something he has never seen.

Dustin Harriet
The school outcast, as he calls himself. Before Gabriel came, he was never one to be noticed. Only being friends with Alexandra and acquainted with Trent George, he labels himself a loner. When Gabriel came, his view of the world changed.

Trent George
Band geek, mathlete and a nerd. He’s one to be constantly bullied. But, he does not give up, telling Alex that one day, he will become the greatest rock star. He holds on to that dream… but also to his Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Gabriel comes in and changes him, but what would it mean to Trent?

Grant Smith
Alexandra’s younger brother. He’s smart for his age, but they could not afford the costs it takes for them to send him to a better school. Alexandra gives her best to sustain their needs, but when Grant started showing signs of a disease, Alex was devoured.

Klaus
Turns out Gabriel isn’t the only rejected being in the human world. Klaus is another rejected being who has no origins, and walks the earth without meaning. He will find out that he finds solace in Gabriel and Alexandra’s company. Both of them will help Klaus find his own way whilst finding Gabriel’s.

Ezekiel Wales
Alexandra’s ex-boyfriend. They meet everyday at the diner they both work at. He’s the perfect guy for Alex, but she has to let go of him because of her family’s crisis. Yet, she doesn’t know if her feelings for this guy has cleared out.  Will she ever find out or will it bug her forever?

Trapped and Kissed

This is my first time writing something like this and I’d like opinions. Of course, set to the pair I’ve always admired.

I don’t want to die today.

Not because I am not ready. But because I haven’t done much yet.

I want to be able to travel, and help people. I can’t change the whole world, but I can change its people. And I may only be dreaming, but at least I am. Some people, they live through life without having the will or the means to dream. I don’t want that.

I don’t want to be stuck inside a life that I don’t love. I want to be able to reach out and touch lives everyday. And I can if I will.

Before I die, I want to change a part of the world, if not everyone.

(Not my piano composition)

Weakness

It will take someone strong to take down someone strong.

That’s who he is, a strong person. He stood out among the rest. His handsome physique captures everyone. His words, seductive and tricky, riddled everybody. He’s one to never let himself lose. He makes sure he’d win or he’d not play at all. He’s deceitful and merciless to his enemies and he has never loved. At least that’s what he thinks.

But she… she’s different. She’s pure and innocent and mild, everything he’s not. She’s smart, but she’s down to earth and they contrast each other so much that people won’t ever think of a relationship sprouting between them. She’s soft and kindhearted, unlike him whose only goal in life is to win. She’s happy and contagious, whilst he lives in the shadows of whatever past he tried to condemn in the dark recesses of his mind. But, she’s strong.

And only with her was he weak. Only in her eyes was he a little child, needing of something more than what the world gives him. Only with her can he be what he wanted to really be: weak and vulnerable.

And it takes someone strong to take down someone strong.

She’s strong in a different sense. Like everyone can be her friend, like she’s some holy person whose only goal in life is to bring happiness and unusual feelings to the people around her. That’s her strength… something he hasn’t got.

With her would he only crumble until the only thing left for him to do is cry. And he does. Only with her, when the night is quiet and the only sound they can hear is the beating of each other’s hearts.

And that’s when he’s most vulnerable. And she sees it, but does not take it down on him. She just lets him.

And…

That’s why he loves her.

“I didn’t know I was smiling, but as I said those words, I know I was happy.”

Insensitive.

I wonder, how much insensitivity can you express? Up until when? Up to what? Do you ever think before you sleep how you hurt people and not care about it?

How about…

What can hurt you? Or do you not feel pain at all?
